Introducing @magethewise

William Brent Hanvey known as Mage as an artist, is a curious lover of all cultures. He is considered to be a delegate of styles and a bridge builder between the traditional and futuristic.
His life has been dedicated to multi-faceted creative expression with a fascination of art and its ability to evoke emotion in the audience.

With a simultaneous fascination from the Natural world, Mage hope to protect this planet and its Magic by combining concepts of elemental design in Nature with geometry and color to create artifacts of an imagined protopian mycobiosymbiote.

Creations that communicate far beyond what words are limited to though sometimes expressed as poetry in prose over the rhythm of a synthesized, semi organic drum rhythms.

Nine Muses

The song that started it all!
Last year in December I had an epiphany to host an event called “Grief Is A Muse.” We lit candles for each of the nine muses, and I wrote this song for that event- an event focused on how we can use our life’s tragedies to write world changing works of art.

This spawned into “Temple of the Muse: A Year of Renaissance” which explored different cultural Renaissance periods. When we landed in Ancient Greece this song came back, along with several others. All of this changed everything. This is when Athena stepped in… and her story began writing itself.

Have you ever experienced true real magic happening in real time? ✨🔮🏛️
That’s exactly what Saturday was.
I still can’t believe it all happened!

Together… 250 voices strong…we sang.
We healed our hearts.
We time traveled.
We created peace and were inspired to repair with others.
We remembered what community feels like.
We followed the inspiration of the muses to make a world changing work of art and declaration of peace.
We laughed, we cried.
We felt and released our anger in song.
We felt alive and we remembered why we came.
We marched out of the gates declaring that the world will mend with patience, faith, forgiveness, love, and grace!
We made a real, honest difference.

It felt like the entire world felt what we created that night. And I know this will continue to echo for years to come.

To every single voice that joined…
That traveled from all over the country to be here- I am in awe of your beauty, your preparation, your poise!

Thank you to those who traveled from:

Tired, wired & inspired!
7 days on site, 40 hours of admin emails and spreadsheets, 4 hours of driving, countless cups of coffee, and one music & arts festival later. It was an honor to be Art Director for Sound Haven again.
Huge thanks to all my muralists and live painters who came out and crushed it. This video perfectly captures the vibe of Sound Haven—a whole lotta my fam in this one shot!
Detox Unit came in strong with the Summertime flip and that bop felt like the perfect summation of the weekend. Everyone was bouncing, recording, or both 😏
