Join DxE San Diego and True Cost Project for a weekend of action to end the use of dogs in laboratory experiments! 🐶
📅 When: All day Friday, Oct 23 & Saturday morning, Oct 24
📍 Time and location: DM us for details!

👔 Dress code:
* Friday: business casual
* Saturday: casual, depending on the weather

We need people to take on different roles, and we need you! Please invite friends and family, and share this post.
Marshall BioResources breeds dogs, ferrets, cats, and pigs for experimentation and sells them to labs across the country. The companies that buy from them, and the ones that profit from their products, are right here in our community.
This weekend, communities around the world will stand up to the companies near them that are complicit in dog experimentation. We’re taking it to the ones in San Diego.
Help the animals and speak for them. Dogs are not lab equipment!

Moshing with my brother Pete and crowd surfing at @tothegraveau in LA the other night is something I'll be holding onto for a long time. 🖤

Nine of us BAALers showed up together, side by side with former ALF activists who did serious time behind bars for freeing thousands of mink from a fur farm and taking on the vivisection industry. Organizers from all over SoCal were there too, some looking at over a decade in prison for rescuing beagles from Ridglan Farms.

I went to Ridglan with a sledgehammer and love in my heart for the animals suffering, ready to get those animals out. I got maced and tear gassed, walked through trenches full of shit, and watched my friends get beaten in front of me. I could be facing prison time too, I'll keep you guys posted.

Everyone in that room has paid a price for this work. Kicked, punched, spit on, pepper sprayed, gassed, shot with rubber bullets, arrested, cut off by family and friends. And all of us are still showing up for the animals.

That's why a night like this hits different. Most days we're the voice for those who are silenced. For one night, To The Grave did the screaming for us and let all that rage and grief out. No band does it like them.

We BAALers aren't going anywhere. 🖤

We are proud to announce that the San Diego County Green Party has endorsed our initiative.

This follows the San Diego County Democratic Party’s endorsement.

Regardless of political affiliation - it’s clear that people want to protect birds 🐦!

Last Sunday we headed to Downtown San Diego to help our pigeon friends! 🕊️
With temperatures over 100°F, the birds were so happy to have fresh water and nutritious food. We also spotted a few pigeons with string tangled around their feet, but sadly we weren’t able to catch them this time. 💔
A huge thank you to everybody who showed up for the pigeons. Your kindness made this day possible! 💛
We’ll be back soon, and we’d love for you to join us next time! 🐦

SeaWorld’s Master Plan goes to the San Diego City Council on Tuesday, Oct 13 at 2:00 PM, and we need you there. 🐬

This plan will shape what SeaWorld can build and do in Mission Bay for years to come. The Planning Commission recommended approval in July with a five-year fireworks phase-out. That’s a start, but it doesn’t go far enough.

We’re asking the Council for three things:

1️⃣ A full fireworks phase-out. Mission Bay’s wildlife and neighbors shouldn’t have to wait out a slow wind-down.

2️⃣ Restore the two-tier public review provisions, so the public keeps its say in future SeaWorld projects.

3️⃣ A cap on cetacean display facilities. No expansion of tanks for whales and dolphins.

Right now, more than 20,000 animals are locked inside Marshall BioResources. We took to the streets of San Diego, joining marches across the country to make sure their suffering doesn't go unseen.

Ridglan Farms wasn't the first to fall, and it won't be the last. Marshall BioResources, your days are numbered. The grassroots animal rights movement is right on your heels, and we're not backing down.

Mess with the animals, you mess with us. 🔥

Powerful and inspiring speech by @tankgirlca during our march against animal experimentation here in San Diego. We will keep speaking up for all animals until every cage is empty!

Please call your representative and ask them to co-sponsor the COMPACT Act (H.R. 10522), which was just introduced in Congress. If passed, the Companion Animal Protection Against Cruel Testing Act would end federal funding for dog and cat experiments.

🌹🐔Banner drop for Rose’s law week of action! 🐔🌹
WHAT: Banner drop
WHEN: Friday October 2nd, 3PM-4PM
MEETING LOCATION: 801 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92103
We will meet outside of Better Buzz coffee then we will walk to the University Ave bridge over the 163 freeway to drop our Rose’s law banner.
Join our action in San Diego!!

This September 29th marks eight years since the rescue of Rose — a single chicken whose story ignited a global movement demanding fundamental rights for animals. In her honor, and for the trillions of animals still suffering around the world, we are launching a Global Week of Action where activists will take action to elevate the urgency and drive the conversation about these 5 basic rights that we demand for all animals:
1. The right to be free - not owned - or to have a guardian acting in their best interest.
2. The right to not be exploited, abused, or killed by humans.
3. The right to have their interests represented in court and protected by the law.
4. The right to a protected home, habitat, or ecosystem.
5. The right to be rescued from situations of distress and exploitation.

Implementing the Animal Bill Of Rights globally is Direct Action Everywhere’s ultimate goal. Go to roseslaw.org to know more about Rose’s Law
During the Rose’s Law Global Week of Action, activists across the globe will organize impactful actions during the week to elevate the Animal Bill of Rights.
