I absolutely totally planned this post for #loveyourbookstore day. This DEFINITELY was not a cute coincidence at alll.....

I never feel more like a country bumpkin than when I go to a big city and remember what the real world is like. Sometimes it's easy to feel like the sphere is limited to what comes up on my Instagram feed, but places like this remind me of how vast the publishing industry really is!

It was extra exciting to see books like mine actually on shelves! (Like I said, only one local bookstore, and they can only stock so much!)

I can't wait to get to Love Galaxy, An Ocean Apart, and If The Stars Go Dark! I also picked up Hell Followed With Us, Growing Up Disabled in Australia, The Thief and the Traitor Bride, and The Ashfire King!

#bookstore #bookhaul #sydney #bookstagram not spon but thank you @kinokuniya_sydney and @dymockssydney for blowing our minds!

I have a literary agent!! 🎉✨

I am beyond thrilled to announce that I am now represented by @magh.writes Mara Hollander at @azantianliteraryagency Azantian Literary Agency!

Her enthusiasm for Definitely Not a Bucket List and my future projects blew me away and I can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us! (Hopefully to bookshelves so we can break readers’ hearts and then stitch them back together.)

eleven years ago today, i pulled up to my first (of nearly a dozen) NYC apartments. it was deep in queens, i had an hour-plus commute to anywhere, and i was about to embark on a grad school adventure i believed would change my life. and it did, in different ways than i anticipated.

over the past 11 years, i’ve lived quite a few types of life. so many adventures. so many friends. so so many book events and authors met and bookstores explored. so many dinners with friends. so many walks in the park. so many skyline photos that took my breath away.

so much life, so much laughter, so much love.

two more weeks in the city of my dreams before i start over. i’ll try to make the most of them!!

I am beyond excited to announce that my debut cozy fantasy novel, POTIONS UNINCORPORATED, is going to be brought to life by @alcovepress (Crooked Lane Books) in Spring 2027!

A huge thank you to my incredible agent @magh.writes and my editor @thaisbookishaffair for believing in this story!

Thank you to all of my writing friends who kept my mental health steady during my time in the query trenches and while on sub! Announcing my pub news is exactly how I wanted to celebrate Disability Pride Month!! 🎉

Keep an eye out for more news about POTIONS UNINCORPORATED! A cozy fantasy with:

🌱 Plant Magic
💚 Chronic Illness Rep
🧪 Pain Management Potions
💰 A Greedy Potion Monopoly
☕️ Cozy Vibes
☀️ Grumpy-Sunshine Romance
🌈 Queer Normative World
💜 Bi-for-Bi Romance
🤭 Only One Bed at the Inn
💙 Found Family

Character art on the first slide is created by the wonderful @yc8.aw 💚 An announcement for Potions Unincorporated, the cozy fantasy debut written by Iris Andersi. The publishers marketplace announcement has a lot of text on it and is framed by two characters created by the tagged artist, Nik. The first character has dark hair and the second has curly blonde hair. They both are looking at glowing purple mushrooms

I’m so excited to have acquired this incredible romantasy duology for First Ink.

Every now and then, a book comes along that simply sweeps you away and reminds you all over again of the joy of reading. With its wit, warmth and boundless sense of wonder, Illusion of Stars was just such a book for me.

Congratulations @sarahpagestories - I’m so glad to be working with you to bring this to an even wider readership!

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH TO ME!!! I’m still in shock, but my debut novel, SIGNED IN SHADOWS, is being published by Alcove Press in Spring 2027!

I wrote this one for me: with tons of stupidity, even more joy, and indulgent spice. Finding @katielizmcguire was a dream come true. She GETS it in a way that fills me with confidence we can make this book the best it can be, and I’ll be forever grateful she was willing to champion my M/M/M urban fantasy without reservation.

Thank you to my amazing agents @laurenbieker and @magh.writes, who always believed in this book. They’ve gassed me up, calmed me down, and generally been the best agents I could ever ask for. Preorder links and all that to come soon. I can’t wait for everyone to meet Ven and co. 💜💜

Art by the incredible @mmarsloud.

#queerbooks #authorsofinstagram #bookstagram #mlmbooks #booktok A Publishers Marketplace announcement reads:
Ash Lukens's SIGNED IN SHADOWS, a polyamorous romantic fantasy in which a man being chased for his new magical abilities enters into a mutual protection arrangement with a handsome stranger, only to find out that the stranger's arranged fiancé may or may not be a murderer—but he'll need to rely on them both to survive, to Kate McGuire at Alcove Press, for publication in Spring 2027, by Lauren Bieker at FinePrint Literary Management and Mara Hollander at Azantian Literary Agency (world English).
Rights: jacqueline@fineprintlit.com

On the edge of the announcement is art of the MC--a white man in ripped jeans, chuck taylors, and a hoodie--leaping through the air with smoke whirling away from his limbs.

2025 Wrapped: Group Chat Edition

We love a good Wrapped post, and we were totally inspired by the lovely post by @authortrmoore and co 🫶

It has been a YEAR!! Tons of highs, lows, and life changing events. I (Grace) couldn't have made it without this group 🖤 If we haven't said it before, we'll say it again, get a group chat. Find your people. They're such an important part of the author journey and for doing life.

Here's to 2025 and all the (hopefully) incredible things 2026 has in store! ✨️
