COMMENT “RSVP” FOR INVITE LOBBY launches this September. A new platform for British based designer-makers, built around limited collections, original briefs and temporary worlds. Map Table collection reinterprets the pedestal table, focusing on simplicity, proportion, and spatial layering. Designed in four heights, the tables are meant to overlap and intersect, allowing pieces to be “mapped” across one another. Crafted in solid oak, the tables’ softly sculpted edges create a perimeter where gentle curves meet, suggesting surfaces shaped over time and worn smooth like coastal stone.

Origin’s Creative Director, Giles Pearson, recently visited Magnus Long at his North London studio to discuss Lean, their first collaboration. The visit offered an insight into Magnus’s design process and the thinking behind Lean; a laptop table shaped by the shift towards more informal ways of working. As laptops have moved into lounges, breakout spaces and shared environments, Lean responds to this shift through a combination of material warmth, a softer visual language and a form designed around a more relaxed way of working.
