Hello everyone! I’m here again with the second piece of LoopMentorship, “Summer.” Directed and developed entirely by Chris Maher, and supervised by me, @Danielcuervoanimation.

“Summer. The warmth of the sun envelops you, the cool breeze passes through your fingers, the air is humid and you can taste the salt— it’s simple and you’re without a care in the world. But when time passes and the seasons change, what about you?

This is a short about change— about how have things changed, about how you have changed, and about that longing for simpler times when life becomes more complicated.

Life is a journey, not a destination.”

#BSDSFeatures @mahamarr

“Hey there. My name is Chris Maher, I’m a multimedia designer, illustrator, and animator based outside of Boston, and I’m a member of the Bay State Design Shop. I was raised on a balanced diet of art, animation, games, music, the internet— pretty much everything that’s supposed to rot your brain.

I’ve been freelancing for the last five years, working on a variety of different things I never expected to work on— identity design and illustration for Flying Dreams Brewing Company in Worcester MA, designing a contest-winning lineup poster for Boston Calling Music Festival 2019, and most recently, having been featured on Run The Jewels’ entire social media network with one of my animations in the style of their second album. So far, it’s been a wild ride.

I don’t really try and keep myself to just one thing, one specific medium or product, I’m all over the place. I’m constantly trying new things, branching out and learning new programs and mediums. It’s like learning how to ride a bunch of bikes all at once— I don't know where I'm going, but I seem to be going somewhere, and I’m having a good time doing it. I hope you enjoy what I’m making as much as I enjoy making it.”

Final Riso prints from yesterday’s workshop with @loyalunion & @wingclubpress (with a couple process pics and cool stuff posted around at Loyal Union yesterday!). 25 limited edition of each (except the green, 5 of those, they were kinda messed up, but sometimes the mistakes are cool too.). Good warmup for class starting Tuesday! #prints #printmaking #riso #risograph #art #boston #somervillema
