Presenting: AMFI Branding Alumnus, Mahé Bouwman Graduation Project: ‘BEYOND THE BREAST - YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE’ Mahé shares: ‘’Beyond the breast - You are so much more’ is a campaign for the brand Baserange focused on reaching a new target audience and making post breast cancer women more visible as representatives of the female form. The world is used to seeing women with breasts as they are one of the symbols of femininity. Yet there are many women without them. The new physical situation of post breast cancer women is not yet a familiar sight. Baserange includes this group as models to highlight the diversity of the female body and to say; you are so much more than your breasts. Around one out of seven women get breast cancer in their life- time, making this group substantial and they are overlooked. These women are discussed in the context of their illness but not once that ill- ness is treated. This group has the need to be represented in society. These women do not see themselves reflected in society; there are no fashion models highlighting the beauty of women with a flat chest or with one breast. Instead this group is linked primarily to their medical history and not as representatives of the female form. ‘ Credits:   Photography Julia van den Hout @juliavandenhout Film Julia van den Hout @juliavandenhout Model Barbara Labrie labrietje Production @mahebouwman Mahé Bouwman Creative direction @mahebouwman Mahé Bouwman

Vandaag 10 jaar geleden begon mijn kanker avontuur.
