theJasmineBrand founder @itsjasminebrand is getting candid about one of the biggest lessons she learned while growing her entertainment news platform — realizing she couldn’t build everything alone. During an interview with journalist and KBLA radio host @stilettojill , Brand reflected on initially taking pride in being a solo entrepreneur. “I had some pride in that. Maybe that was ego,” she admitted. Eventually, however, she realized her own skill set could only take the company so far. “I can do well in terms of the content side and being maybe a personality, but… I’m going to hit my ceiling very fast.” That realization led Brand to recognize that she needed help on the business side and ultimately a business partner, @mahir_fadle , co-owner of the platform. “It took me a little bit to be like, ‘Oh, I need a business partner,’” she explained. “I didn’t know what I didn’t know.” Brand added that although her father is an entrepreneur, she never initially envisioned that path for herself and hadn’t spent much time studying founders or businesses. The media entrepreneur’s comments offer a candid look at the growing pains behind theJasmineBrand and the shift from building independently to recognizing the value of having the right people alongside you as a company expands.
