Why I love mahjong reason # 357: I was visiting my college kid out of state and found myself with a free afternoon…not really enough time for a museum, but more time than I wanted to just waste away. So I searched “Cleveland Mahjong”, and found the treasure that is @mahjongmaison. And instead of sitting in the hotel for a couple hours doomscrolling while I waited for my family to do all of the things, I sat down at a table with 3 other women, all of us strangers. I feel like mahjong gave me a gift - I got to meet 3 fascinating women and I’m better for it. How cool is that?!?
Another cool thing? They carry a ton of products, many I haven’t seen in person before. I loved it so much I’m planning the next kid visit around open play at @mahjongmaison and this time I’ll make sure I leave enough time to shop!

🌊Did you know Third Coast Mahjong has a “sister” parlor?

👩🏼👩🏻Maggie’s sister, Amy Myers, owns @mahjongmaison — just named a 2026 Best of Cleveland Editor’s Pick for Best Mahjong Studio by Cleveland Magazine.

Amy is our go-to guide for all things Mahj, and after her recent visit, we’ve got a ton of new tile sets, mats and racks on order.

Keep an eye on our window display, new Mahjong goodies are popping up soon!

🀄️How do you build a Mahjong parlor???

🗓️Six months ago, Maggie & Elizabeth wondered the same thing.

At 405 1/2 Linden Ave. they finally saw a chance to create the calm and welcoming third space they’d long envisioned.

🌊Third Coast Mahjong is open thanks to the help of so many people, including Becca with @foursideddesign, Thomas with @studiotalo, Bob and his crew from Top Notch Trim, @gi_jade3, Heather and Sterling of @bamgoodtime, Russ of @stormprintcity, Mark of @roycerepairs, Lisa with @vofwilmette and Amy from @mahjongmaison.

Next time you’re in Wilmette, stop by and check us out!

WOW. What a night.

Our Grand Opening event @etonchagrin was truly unforgettable, and we are so incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from everyone who joined us and also donated raffle baskets.

With @titosvodka generous donation added to the total, we’re proud to share that together, we’ve helped provide nearly 30,000 meals from @clevelandfoodbank for our neighbors in need.

Thank you for celebrating this milestone with us and for helping make an impact far beyond our doors.
Cheers to an incredible beginning at RED Eton.
