Nothing does justice in describing our Alchemy 2025 conference! 💗 The spirit of transformation was at work in many forms: the written word, image, performance, sound, and most importantly, through research that is as much about feeling as it is about knowing. Together, we moved between the symbolic and the sensory, between scholarly insight and creative emergence.

The theme that calls us together every year reminds us that creativity and consciousness share the same crucible. Both require heat, both demand patience, and both bring us face to face with the unknown elements within ourselves. In this space, art becomes more than expression—it becomes where psyche meets matter, and symbol becomes substance.

Alchemy was never only about turning lead into gold. It was, above all, an art of transformation—a way of seeing how inner and outer realities mirror one another. To speak of “metaphor” in this context is to speak of the living process of transmutation.

And today—often defined by speed and fragmentation—the alchemical imagination offers an antidote. It teaches us to read beyond the surface, to listen for meaning that moves beneath the visible. Every act of creation, every poem, every image or gesture is an invitation to restore what has been separated—spirit and matter, intellect and intuition, self and world.

Thank you all for making this conference a shared laboratory—a sacred vessel of sorts—where each presentation, each conversation, contributes to the greater Work. Thank you for your passion, curiosity, and a willingness to let something in us change — however subtly, however mysteriously. And thank you for the reminder that alchemy begins wherever we are willing to imagine otherwise.

Special thanks to our keynote Yannis Pantazis, our plenaries Mick Collins and Katia Hage—your music and wisdom was a beautiful breath of fresh air, an incense in the crucible💕 And so much gratitude to our moderators and co-organisers Arden Waterman, @sdnorton42, @daniel_the_most, @ginasnooksphd, @emmahaughton_musician, @evyedreaming, Jana Hirsch, Rachel Newsome, Saskia May, Chloe Campbell

Much love to all the beautiful souls who made this happen❤️
