A big thank you again to @unfestivalcesttropcourt for this prize for ACTS OF MEMORY and to the sponsors of the prize @videodepoche in Paris. The prize is worth a €1000 post production help for my next film ( DCP etc) for which I am very thankful indeed. FESTIVAL DE CANNES ✨ what a dream come TRUE!!! What an honor to have our International Premiere of “In the Current of Being” at the only second ever immersive competition at @festivaldecannes - and the first time ever being hosted at the premiere Hotel Carlton right in the middle of the festival 😍 It has always been a dream to be invited to the best film festival in the world, I never thought I would reach it by age 26! And in such a trailblazing category with such amazing fellow artists! This trip was a whirlwind, so much fun but also so stressful, from pulling multiple all nighters troubleshooting to lessons in leadership under pressure, I learned so much from this festival and feel like I’m coming home a changed person. It was a very humbling reminder that every obstacle is an opportunity to learn and grow, and it also made me realize how much more is possible, and how much further I want to go. I’m walking away from Cannes with a fire in my chest and a vision that’s only just beginning! Some highlights were - - Sharing the red carpet with Rihanna, Spike Lee, and Julia Ducournau 😍 - Getting to show my work to one of my heroes Laurie Anderson - Hosting our own party like we’re celebrities @rideau._ 🤩🎉 - Participating in the @mdf_cannes on the glamorous @art.explora - Talking about the realities of conversion practices with people all over the world who feel more motivated to go make change (and making plans to bring our experience to the places it matters most!) - Seeing the premiere of “La Misteriosa Mirada del Flamenco” and crying three times (with a 10 min standing ovation) - When the lead juror, the director of march of the penguins ripped his pants sitting in our custom electric chairs (sorry Luc 😩) - Napping on the beach during lunch breaks - And being blessed with THE BEST team and friends and family a girl could ask for!! THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible - you know who you are!!! 💞 it truly takes a village to pull something like this off and im so proud of us!!! And most of all thank you Carolyn for trusting me to share your story in this way! #cannes #premiere #xr #immersive
