✨ Aparigraha: Softening the Grip ✨

One of the first tenets of yoga is aparigraha: non-attachment, non-grasping.

We wait for the “perfect” moment to return to our mat:

“Once this project is done...”
“Once the kids are back in school...”
“Once life calms down...”

We’re always going to be chasing a finish line.🏁

Aparigraha teaches us to soften that grasping, to show up when life is messy, not just when everything is in its perfect place. Your spiritual practice should be the constant.

I recently heard a quote: “Your life shouldn’t have to make space for your spiritual practice. Your spiritual practice should be what your life is built around.”

When we unapologetically show up on our mats, meditation cushions, or in sangha we allow the practice to do its work. To be the life line that brings us back to ourselves, again and again.

So stop reaching for perfection. Stop chasing the finish line. Soften the reaching for perfection.

Let life stop being a paint-by-numbers 🎨 and start being a Jackson Pollock painting: wild, layered, and exactly as it is.🐍

Peru 2.0 is officially in the books, and I’m still not over the beauty of this country. 🇵🇪

This year’s Sacred Valley Retreat looked so much different than the first, but that’s the magic of Peru. You could go back every single year and still not scratch the surface of what the Sacred Valley has to offer.

I’ve been sitting on these photos for a minute because it’s impossible to capture the experience in just 20 photos. I couldn’t pick! So consider this just a taste.

We hiked. We held ceremony. We stood at Machu Picchu. We climbed the Stairs of Death on Huayna Picchu and lived to tell about it 😅 And yes, plenty of Oms found their way in too.

New friends, old friends, big mountains, bigger hearts. This is only the beginning of what I’m sharing from this trip.
