Can I hold your hand while I say something unpopular?

Your wedding doesn’t need to be perfect.

I know. Coming from a wedding planner, that might sound a little wild. But hear me out.

I’m very aware of how important your wedding day is. I know how much time, money, and emotion you’ve invested into it. I know how much thought goes into every little detail, and I know how special it all is.

But I also know how much pressure comes with trying to make everything perfect.

Here’s the thing. At Maverick Chic Events, we don’t use the word “perfect.”

WHY?!

Because everyone’s definition of perfect is different. What’s perfect to you might not be perfect to your mom, your best friend, or the person sitting three rows back at your ceremony. Trying to meet everyone’s standards is an impossible expectation, and quite frankly, that’s bullshit. It leaves you, and me, with anxiety. Ew.

We work our asses off to create a day that feels like YOU. Beautiful, intentional, memorable, and full of the things that matter most to you.

But y’all, you’re marrying your BEST FRIEND! If that means playing rock, paper, scissors in the middle of your ceremony to decide who reads their vows first, then DO IT!

Who cares if someone bails last minute? (Okay, other than your budget. 😑) Your guests are there to celebrate your love, not critique your chairs. And if they are? That’s a them problem.

And somewhere along the way, I think couples forget that they’re allowed to have FUN at their own wedding.

So please, stop putting so much pressure on yourselves to meet everyone else’s expectations.

We work hard to make your wedding yours, and that includes giving you the space to actually enjoy it.

Marry your bestie. Soak it all in. Have the time of your life.

Let us worry about the other crap. 💜

I can’t decide, hair piece or no hair piece? Eyes open or eyes closed? Honestly, when you’re this beautiful, there really isn’t a wrong photo. 🤍✨ This stunning bride, wrapped up in all the twinkling light and a textured low bun style was perfect for her special day. She found her love, the Nor’easter decided to hold off, and somehow the Maine weather gave them the outdoor ceremony they dreamed of. 🌊
The luckiest bride there ever was or maybe just the luckiest girl who found her person.

It doesn’t matter the season, the location, the weather, what you are prepared or not prepared for. The moment the question is asked, nothing else matters but that moment. The two of you, the love, tears, happiness and emotions. That’s what matters!
The moment N & J’s proposal occurred, meant everything to them. The planning before, the moments after lead up to the beginning of the rest of their lives together. The rain didn’t care, it came anyway. Congratulations 🍾 on your proposal, engagement and the next chapter!

A Marginal Way surprise proposal!
These just are the absolute best to be asked to capture for someone. It’s the planning, execution and reward of freezing this moment for a couple as they start their life together deciding to become one!
Thank you Zane for the opportunity to capture this for you and Colby and the amazing warmth shared by your family afterwards.
We picked the perfect location, had so many laughs and emotions and it truly was a fantastic experience! I wish you all the best in life, health and love! Cheers! 🥂
