Receiving the Musical Prodigy Award at the Legend Awards is a moment I will never forget. Walking across that stage at the LaSalle Theater felt like a full-circle moment for a girl who started on BET and never stopped dreaming of ways to elevate her city.
A huge shoutout to @nazzie_nae and the entire @thelegendawards team for this honor. Thank you for recognizing the vision and for creating a platform that celebrates our own. Being acknowledged as a “Prodigy” is a reminder that the work we put in behind the scenes truly matters.
For me, music and entertainment have always been about more than just the spectacle. It is about the power to connect. As I said on stage, connecting people is what I live for. Whether I have the direct link or I know someone who does, my goal is always to see us expand globally.
What made this night even more special was having my friends and my daughter there with me. Celebrating her Sweet 16 on the same night I received this award was the greatest gift I could ask for. It’s about building a legacy our children can be proud of and showing them that with professional leadership and excellence, anything is possible.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my journey from the Cleveland School of the Arts to where I stand today. We are just getting started. If you don’t know me yet, you definitely will. Let’s keep connecting and keep building.

Community Call: Help Us Honor Families Impacted by Gun Violence

We are calling on our community to help us identify families who have lost a loved one to gun violence. The Cuyahoga County Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) would like to deliver a card to these families—simply to let them know that their loved one is remembered and not forgotten.

Community connection matters, and your help can make this effort possible.

Ways the Community Can Help

You can support this effort in the following ways:

• Share the name of a family who has lost a loved one to gun violence and help connect them to OVP
• Connect families directly by sharing OVP’s social media handles or official email
• Send contact information (with permission) via text message, email, or direct message
• Pick up cards to personally deliver to families on behalf of the Office of Violence Prevention
• Help spread the word so families know support is available

All shared information will be handled with care, respect, and confidentiality.

If you know a family who may appreciate this gesture—or if you are a family member yourself—please reach out. This is about remembrance, dignity, and letting families know they are not alone.

Together, we can show up for those carrying grief this holiday season.

Proud to highlight Cleveland’s own @mainlinemoochie 🔥 national award winner! She was presented the Dante Barksdale award in the “show me state” (Missouri)

The Health Alliance for Violence Intervention are those who offers violence intervention, support, resources, and life changing support from their experiential knowledge. @mainlinemoochie have been there on the front line doing just that and beyond. She has worked with hundreds of families in and around Cleveland,Ohio and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award other than her. Thank you @mainlinemoochie for all you do and I salute you. 🫡 ♥️

Dante Barksdale: Dante “Tater” Barksdale dedicated his life’s work to the autonomy and authenticity of frontline work throughout the country. As leader of the Safe Streets Organization in Baltimore, MD, Dante worked tirelessly showing individuals that thought there was more than just one way to survive the streets. The impact of his work in the country is evident. Dante was shot and killed at the Douglass Homes in Southeastern Baltimore. The HAVI would like to honor his life and legacy by recognizing his peers who are also making a tremendous impact in their communities.

The Dante Barksdale Award honors the important and lifesaving work of frontline violence intervention and prevention workers. These staff members establish and maintain trust with individuals through credibility which stems from their experiential knowledge. A core tenant to violence prevention work using a public health approach, these individuals are effective at influencing change within communities that have historically been harmed and mistreated by health systems.

In memory of Dante “Tater” Barksdale, the HAVI is recognizing a frontline violence intervention worker, current or former, that has demonstrated leadership and excellence coordinating across sectors to achieve impact results for the entire violence prevention and intervention field
