Jesus is my treasure.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I got to spend a week in London/Oxford with @gpackiam and @joshuamacgregor_ learning from leaders in the UK church (both past and present). I feel encouraged, expectant, and energized for our ministry at home. Thankful to @ctoddproctor and @alphausa for hosting us. Here are some early learnings…
1. Our job is to carry faith for the people we lead, not cynicism.
2. Meeting your heroes is special but getting time with people you’ve raised up fills you with joy.
3. I’m more hungry for the Spirit of God than ever— in some ways it feels like I did when I first started to experience God’s presence. In other ways it feels different. Like being in a place you’ve been before but with new eyes to see it.
4. I feel compelled to give away what I’ve received— raising people up, parenting, teaching, writing, praying, empowering— all of it. I feel the Lord releasing me into a ministry that isn’t about me yet is about giving myself away to others.
5. There’s few things better in life than doing ministry with your friends.
6. There’s nothing better than coming home to the people you love.

"If they knew how kind Jesus was, how present, how true and real, why did it take them so long to tell me?"

Hosted a panel on spiritual openness today with a group of young adults who are radiant in their love for Jesus. I met them in wildly diverse spaces; through a Zoom Bible study, in line for the toilets at a festival, via a mutual friend at a concert, on a podcast recording, over a spicy debate. In every setting, they leak out authentic relationship with a loving God.

Perhaps you're witnessing this moment of spiritual openness with the same wide-eyed wonder I am. Perhaps you're more wary or uncertain, waiting to see if it's real. Today's conversation echoed the way my experience has shifted radically since arriving in the UK 12 years ago.

Spring is in the air. Hope, radical, counter-culture hope is available to all who desire it. The medical professional, learner, government worker, young preacher, artist, musician are all echoing the same story:

Hope is found in Jesus. How can we keep from speaking about it?
