“We’ve all heard the horror stories. Living in a basement with a leaky ceiling. Breaking up with partners because you’re touring too much. Working 60-hour weeks at Hungry Jack’s only to have no energy left over for composing. Pærish are here to tell us to not lose heart.”

What’s the biggest lesson @mouthculture have learnt as a band? Apparently, it never gets any easier. 😂

Speaking to us backstage at Barfly ahead of their sold-out Kerrang! Presents show, Mouth Culture reflected on the lessons they’ve picked up along the way from trusting their instincts to knowing when to keep going.

Their biggest takeaway? Make music for yourself first. Write what you genuinely love, be your own biggest fan and don’t let outside expectations dictate what you create.

And perseverance is a pretty big part of it, too. Having been dealt their fair share of difficult hands over the years, there have been plenty of moments when walking away would’ve been the easier option.

But they didn’t. And now they’re here.

“If you don’t love what you’re doing, you can’t really expect anyone else to.”
