Hosting art workshops in Madrid ~ Discovering artful places while travelling

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

14 years ago I started a photo album of the first S.F. Correspondence Co-op meeting started by Jennie Hinchcliff. 14 years later we are still celebrating mail art. Some familiar faces in here — but a lot of lovely people I haven’t seen in a while. I think we need a reunion of the original group!

I wasn’t very diligent in taking food photos but wanted to share a few of my favorite dishes.

1. Steak at Sagardi in the Gothic Quarter. Their indoor restaurant is beautiful & they let you pick your own steak! They also do pinchos at the bar prior to dinner. overall the meal was really well done and their service was spectacular.

2. Salmon Canneloni and 3. A dessert- I forgot the name but it was my favorite of the trip! Both from @antiguarestaurante. We did a fixe menu and was super impressed with everything. Service was also friendly and attentive.

4. Another prix fixe menu from @cruixbcn. I didn’t get a good photo of my favorite dishes (one was fish with a vinegary sauce and the other was their cheese bomb) but everything, including this fish and tomato dish was amazing! They also included two desserts! They weren’t my favorite but were pretty interesting and worth trying.

5/6/7from @llamber_restaurant_barcelona. 5. Agua Chile. Refreshing and tasty. 6. Pulpo with a lemon purée. Fave dish of the trip and I honestly wanted to order it again! 6. 3 desserts-Wasn’t a huge fan of the peaches dish but the strawberry dessert (off menu) was fresh, delicious, super light and creamy. It paired really nicely with their chocolate dessert too.

Other stuff I ate but not pictured:
I was pretty obsessed with Spanish omelettes. It’s a simple dish and when done right, they’re amazing! I also had several dishes of fried cheese (no not mozzarella sticks but fried Brie or Camembert) throughout the trip and am contemplating trying to recreate it at home!!!

@kharizaskates, @isaacjfarfan, and I had tapas at a resultant whose name escapes me and I got zero photos from but I def want to try their dinner menu if I’m ever back in Barcelona! We had a mushroom dish, foie and steak, fried cheese, and more!

I also had a delicious sandwich and smoothie earlier in the day at a cafe right next to @llamber_restaurant_barcelona but I also forgot the name of it!

And of course churros with @stickysk8s @isaacjfarfan @kharizaskates and @curbsidetreasure . Super delicious and of course I’ve forgotten the name of this place too…

If anyone remembers pls share in comments!!!

Day 1 & 2 recap of Skate Live Barcelona! @skatelovebcn - it’s been such a fun time so far! I really love getting to meet so many different people from the global skate community and seeing some of my skate inspos skate IRL ❤️🛼 The only negative has been this damn jet lag- but the energy from this festival and the people have been giving me that extra energy I need to power through 🙌🏼

Chapter 10: All you need in life are the essentials: good people and good food. Mole and sour cream. Churros con chocolat. Nothing too sweet. Oh and ear plugs for nights when you realize you might be too old to be out in a place like this 🙉😂

We will be back @donaji_tamalitos - everything was 10/10

Chapter 9: on Fridays, rooftops require reservations. Happily we ended up at @cornerstoneberkeley for better bites and brews. Cheers to a tradition that will soon have to change, but to friendships that don't. 🍻 #mintedcrew
