Today was such a special day in rehearsal! ❤️

The dancers and I welcomed our former board chair, Mr. Jerry Appelstein, and one of our greatest supporters and a devoted champion of the arts, Mr. Charlie Adelman—two people I am also so grateful to call my friends.

We shared the three new sections of A Veteran’s Journey, along with MANIFESTATIONS. Seeing their joy and enthusiasm meant so much to all of us.

Jerry and Charlie, thank you for believing in Alison Cook Beatty Dance and supporting us through so many years of growth, discovery, and creation. Your generosity has helped make this journey possible, and we are grateful to have you beside us as we continue. We love you both dearly!

And to our beautiful dancers—Madelaine Burnett, Ava Trochiano, Ioanna Ioannides, Facundo Ferreyra, Makenna Zelenak, Natalie Aronno, Chynna Holder, and Marcos Antonio—congratulations on your work today! We are so proud of your artistry, your dedication, and everything you bring to the world.❤️ Tickets 🎫 to our upcoming show ARTISTS IN MOTION can be found on www.alisoncookbeattydance.org Nov 1st 7pm #dance #greatfulandblessed🙏❤️ #beautifulday #dancers

“It’s astonishing to me that a company of such limited size can create and execute a dance that digs so deeply, and so well, into human nature and human emotions.”
—Jerry Hoffman, CriticalDance

I often think of the beloved storybook The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge. That little lighthouse reminds me of our company: small, with a steady light and something meaningful to give. ❤️

We are deeply grateful to the supporters who see that light in Alison Cook Beatty Dance. You help us keep creating, sharing our stories, and reaching people through dance. We may be small, but we are mighty.

Part of our mission is to make dance accessible to everyone—financially, and through the feeling of welcome you experience at our shows. Whether you’ve loved dance your whole life or are attending your first performance, there is a place for you here. Come as you are. 💛

“Alison Cook Beatty Dance literally transforms the environment around you, creating a space where movement, music, and mood meet. Lifelong dance connoisseurs and the uninitiated will find an Alison Cook Beatty Dance performance equally captivating. This should not be missed.”
—Peter Cobb; Program Officer, New York Foundation for the Arts

Join us for ARTISTS IN MOTION! ACBD will present excerpts of MANIFESTATIONS and A VETERAN’S JOURNEY within a beautiful program featuring eight female choreographers and more than 60 dancers, supported by the dedicated stage workers who bring this evening to life.

Purchase a ticket, bring a friend, and help our little lighthouse shine. ✨

Inside the rehearsal room with MANIFESTATIONS ✨

“Manifestations is as close to psychodramas choreographed by Anthony Tudor as anything else within my memory.”
— Jerry Hochman, CriticalDance

Love. Expectation. Belonging. The longing to be accepted for who we are.

MANIFESTATIONS explores the tension between a parent’s expectations and a child’s truth—bringing love, conflict, and the complexities of human connection into motion. Watching our dancers breathe life into this work reminds me why I create: to give movement to feelings that words cannot always hold.

Join us for an excerpt of MANIFESTATIONS at Artists in Motion, an evening celebrating eight female-led dance companies and choreographers.

Choreography: Alison Cook-Beatty
Music: John Adams, Shaker Loops

Performing with Alison Cook Beatty Dance: Madelaine Burnett, Ioanna Ioannides, Ava Trochiano, Facundo Ferreyra, Chynna Holder, Marcos Antonio, Makenna Zelenak, and Natalie Aronno.

🎶 SHE DREAMS, SHE DARES, SHE DANCES 🎶

With the Kennedy Center’s doors closed today,
I think JFK would have something to say!
When arts funding shrinks, let our voices grow—
Stand with these artists. Come see the show!

Eight women gather with stars in their hair,
Fire in their hearts and truths to share.
She dreams, she dares, she dances, she sings—
Watch what happens when women grow wings!

BoSoma Dance Company, thunder and grace,
LaHa Dance Group, let wonder take space!
EMERGE125, let your bright sparks fly,
Fearless Young Artists Studios, reach for the sky!

Meredith Pellon, weave worlds in the air,
Neville Dance Theatre, take us somewhere!
Kristen Mangione, let heartstrings ring,
Alison Cook Beatty Dance, give stories their wings!

✨ She dreams, she dares, she dances, she sings,
She tells her truth and shakes up things!
Art heals, connects, lets boundaries fall,
It carries our truths and makes room for us all.

Eight women choreographers, eight voices clear,
Come support the artists creating right here!
November first, when the clock strikes seven,
A little earthbound magic, a little dance heaven.

At Ailey Theater, let wonder begin—
Bring someone you love, come dancing in!
Artists in Motion—let your heart lead the way,
Help these stories take flight—get your tickets today! 🎶#dance #moderndance #dancers #artistsarenecessaryworkers #supportthearts
