When I opened the velvet box, this entertained my eye. These are beads that were just debris in the sidewalk cracks at a glass bead making studio in Murano, Italy, Murano glass rings and a random baroque pearl. I forgot I had them. #makertourism @makertourism

2 years ago in Venice on the most enriching and memorable @makertourism jaunt with @trimqueen and the best group of travel partners. This was a mosaic studio glass library. It’s one of the most fascinating studios I’ve been in my life. OK guys, you know I like the finer things in life and LOVE learning about #textilehistory. So when I tell you I'm excited to go (virtually) #behindtheseams at @tessiturebevilacqua, one of last remaining hand-woven silk velvet producers in Italy with @trimqueen's Breakfast in Venice series, I'm SO EXCITED. I love this mill and I am so excited to learn more about them and the history of "Velvet Making and the Silk Road". This event is on 4/30, but there are 5 other awesome maker tours as well.
