CURATION is born and built right on the farm, tucked deep among the trees. It takes a huge role by Allison, our queen PM, and a team who trusts each other completely and HUSTLES to pull it off. These are literally the only photos I took. I can’t even express how much fun I had. To see people I haven’t seen in years. Hearing the stories from the past. Converting people to wanting to so curves. Spending 12 hours a day with two amazing friends. Encouraging people to take up space in the world. Seeing all the beauty around me. It’s my favorite #quiltcon of all time. 😊

QuiltCon friends what a fantastic 1st day. Thank you for all of the hellos, hugs, sharing your photos of your projects, hearing the success stores you’ve had, and generally just being excited like I am about sewing.

For me, meeting #quiltyfriends is the best part of #quiltcon 🩷

It was so wonderful that I was able to meet Kathryn @makeshiftkat in person! We got to know each other through my @maywoodstudio #maywoodmaker2023 experience. She and the entire Maywood team was so helpful and supportive!

Jeanne @jeanne.garcia shared her beautiful quilt with me and told me the story of how it came to be💜 I always love hearing about a maker’s inspiration and process! And of course meeting an IG friend in real life for the first time is so fun 🤩

I was fortunate to be able to attend a lecture by the super talented @carole_lylesshaw and it was great! She is another #maywoodmakeralumna and we got to meet IRL last year in Atlanta🧡 Fabulous lecture Carole!

Last but not least my sweet friend Farrah @farrah.handmade 💕 We’ve been IG friends for years and have been able to meet up at QuiltCon a few times. She is such a kind person and I look forward to seeing her every year in February😊

What has 48 gorgeous Shadow Play colors, 12 blocks, and is out of this world? The Star Maker Sampler! ⭐️

On Tuesday October 24 @maywoodstudio will reveal the 2023 Star Maker Sampler and share more details about each of the 12 maker’s blocks, inspiration, techniques, and the new Shadow Play colors we each used. I can hardly wait to show you my block 😆

The Star Maker Sampler will be hanging at the Quilt Market booth, #819. If you are attending, I hope you’ll have a chance to stop by the @maywoodstudio booth. See if you can guess which one is mine🧵❤️ And I’d love to see a photo of the quilt so please tag me🤗

LAVA 2023
pictures will never be able to capture the magic and mayhem of this place. In a nutshell: I got a shirt!!! The creepy doll antics went next level. Games were played. Movies were watched. Beaches visited. Rides were ridden. Ice cream, crumb cake, pretzels and donuts were eaten to excess. I never quite feel as myself as I do with this motley crew. #5dub4life #goelzlove
