The getting-ready moments on your wedding day are about so much more than hair, makeup, and putting on your dress. They are about being surrounded by the people who have loved you, supported you, and helped shape the person you are today.

It’s the laughter filling the room, the happy tears, the stories being retold, the thoughtful gifts, and the quiet moments with the people who mean the most to you. These are the memories that can be easy to overlook when you’re focused on everything happening around you.

As a wedding planner, here are a few ways I encourage couples to be present and make the most of this special time:

1. Be intentional about who is in the room. Invite the people who bring you peace, joy, and comfort. You don’t need a large group to make the morning meaningful.

2. Build breathing room into your timeline. Give yourself time to enjoy the morning without constantly checking the clock. A relaxed timeline allows you to soak in the moments instead of rushing through them.

3. Put your phone away. Let someone else capture the behind-the-scenes moments so you can be fully present with the people around you.

4. Make time for the little things. Open sentimental gifts, exchange handwritten letters, share a champagne toast, or simply sit together and talk before the day begins.

5. Pause and take it all in. Before you put on your dress or head to your ceremony, take a moment to look around the room. Notice the people, the excitement, and the feeling of this once-in-a-lifetime morning.

Your wedding day will move quickly, but you don’t have to rush through every moment. Sometimes, the most meaningful memories happen in the quiet moments before the celebration begins.
Remember: your wedding morning isn’t just preparation for the day ahead. It’s part of the story you’ll remember for years to come.

Save this as a reminder to slow down and be present on your wedding morning.

Enjoying each others company so much that you forget anyone is watching 🤍

Maggie and Jake's wedding was filled with European inspiration including crepes, their vineyard landscape, and catering choices with their signature drink, Aperol Spritz, by @purpleonioncateringco 🍇

We loved the ivory and buttery-yellow garden roses with the touches of dusty blue throughout their wedding day.

The reception had lots of dancing, lifting in the air, and adoration -- it was the kind of joy that comes when two families come together to celebrate the people they love!
