What started as a talk back in 2023 at the @aaschool has made its way through to today. A lot of what we did for the last 3 months at the school is part of a domino effect that started from that same talk. Also the perfect excuse to bring to life so many lingering ideas and conversations that have been floating around at the studio. Literally writing a manifesto in real time. ✍️✍️✍️

I promised to share more of the efforts of others, that inspire me with both their vision and the real world application of their ideas. Well, here we are.

The golden thread that connects each is the theme of

M A K I N G

Whether this is about,

__hosting a workshop space to enable hands on craft @making_rooom by @andumasebo @mikeyk__

__providing studio space and community for artists, technologists or fashion designers @makerversity

__creating an alternative masters for those who too often are under-served but over-index on talent, ingenuity and creativity @makeyourownmasters by @staciewoolsey

each is dedicated to empowering individuals to come together, to unlock their own agency, creativity and inner potential, by challenging the status quo of traditional educational formats.

These concepts thrive off participation, collaboration, and peer support. These models empower the participant, especially as it involves *hands* on making, crafting and tinkering. We are human after all, not machines. Yet, that is.

Whether you are inspired to learn more about these platforms (do go and support) or to create similar opportunities in your own circles, take this as a call to action. The time is now to create new paradigms, to bring people into community, to ask more questions about who we are and how we live. The answers are waiting to be heard.

Here's to supporting and amplifying good works, good people, good principles 🔝.

Remember, we are the algorithm.

Nei giorni scorsi siamo stati a Londra per il London Design Festival, uno degli eventi internazionali più attesi nel Regno Unito interamente dedicato al design, all’architettura ed alla creatività. L’evento ha riunito designers, artisti ed architetti provenienti da tutto il mondo.

Partecipando a conferenze, visitando gli Open Studio, interloquendo con esperti di settore abbiamo avuto piacevoli “contaminazioni”, necessarie per crescere e sviluppare un approccio ed una conseguente progettazione sempre più innovativa, di tendenza e sostenibile.

In the past few days we have been in London for the London Design Festival, one of the most important international events in the United Kingdom entirely dedicated to design, architecture and creativity. The event brought together designers, artists and architects from all over the world.

Participating in conferences, visiting Open Studios, talking to industry experts we had pleasant “contaminations”, necessary to grow and develop an approach and a consequent increasingly innovative, trendy and sustainable design.
