Mark your calendars for March 8th!! (If you haven’t already!)🙌🏻

Splash Mountain & Golden hour✨My very favorite time to ride. Just over here (not) patiently waiting for Splash Mountain to open again on March 8th…BUT we had the worst timing on our next trip & we literally head home March 7th 😭 one day before it opens back up. My only word for how I feel about it is HEARTBROKEN! Guess that means we need to book our next trip ASAP!😂

I'm an optimist. I naturally look for and see magic in everyday life, but recently, that magic has been almost impossible to find.

Being vulnerable in a space intended to be an endless stream of happiness is uncomfortable. My past 2 years have been hard to say the least. Summer 2021, I was ready to give up on everything. Who I am. Who I want to be. I was ready to fade into the shadows of life, which included deleting this account.

Then something unexpected helped me rediscover the magic I'd lost.

Summer 2021, my cousin sent me a message here saying he was diagnosed with cancer. Shocked, I asked what I could do to support him.

He said, "Keep posting."

So, I decided to keep going, for him. We formed a special friendship that wouldn't have existed otherwise. We even agreed to go to Disney together when his treatments were over. Sadly, he passed away three days before Christmas.

Before my cousin passed, I was invited to a Utah Disney Instagrammer dinner/gift exchange. When I found out the dinner was the same night as my cousin's Celebration of Life, I knew I couldn’t go to the dinner. I don't know why, but I kept feeling a nudge to attend this dinner, even if I was an hour late- family first always. With a tender heart, I made it to the dinner just in time to open gifts. What I found inside my gift brought me to tears. It was three squares of Disney churro toffee.

During my recent trip to Disneyland, I bought three squares of that same churro toffee. Two to give away and one for me. When I got home, I decided to make my cousin's day a little sweeter and take him that third square. That's the last time I saw him.

Since my cousin's passing, I've been sitting and processing, unsure what my next steps should be with this account. I had to take a good look at who this account was really for and why it matters. Opening those three squares of churro toffee reminded me what Disney magic is about: CONNECTION.

It's about finding common ground, making memories, and sparking joy, even in dark times. I finally remember why I’m here. We all need a little pixie dust in our everyday lives. I know I do, and I hope I can sprinkle some in your life, too.

With Disneyland taking a bit to open in 2021, we decided we couldn’t wait & booked a trip to Disney World! Then went back to our home away from home, Disneyland, once it opened for the rest of our trips this past year! Can’t wait for our Disney adventures in 2022!
