👌 HELPING OTHERS 💪

Over the weekend dad took me to @makotrac , this time not to drive but instead I helped out a local junior who is quite new to karting.

It was really good to see his improvements, I was able to help him take 1 second off his lap time over the day.

I can’t wait to see how he can take his improvements into the FNQ titles this weekend.

It’s has been one year on since our club hosted at our first event Queensland State Title at Mako Track Mareeba. The work done during 2024&2025 to get the place up spec for this event was incredible. Next weekend the Bundaberg Kart Club will host the Queensland State Title so best of luck to the club hosting it.

How lucky was this- Qld Globe showed satellite imagery of Makotrac from the 2025 Qld State Championships! Obviously, Cairns Kart Club re-tasked the PlanetScope satellite constellation to make a perfectly timed pass over, just as we had a race in progress on track. Either that, or it was a lucky fluke! To view it go to https://qldglobe.information.qld.gov.au/ and search for street address ’52 Springs Rd Mareeba’. If anyone spots their trailer, kart or pit setup, let us know! Bonus points if you can identify the race in progress.

Onboard footage from the Mixed Seniors final. This footage is from TAG 125 Restricted Medium Driver Sebastian Di Salvo racing with TAG Restricted Light Driver Craig Beehag and TAG 125 Restricted Medium Driver Jeremy Evans. A 12 lap final that was very close with Craig Beehag getting the lead on lap 8. This video shows the battle from Lap 1 to Lap 8.

For the Jim Cavill Memorial we will be using a different track Layout. The change will be turning halfway down the Start/Finish straight.
