This past week will be one of my favorite memories of my fighting and martial arts career. I am blessed and grateful to have an amazing friend/brother like Takeru. He came all the way from Japan to help me train. He uplifted my spirit, gave me strength and energy for this upcoming fight. I don’t know how I got so lucky to have the greatest kickboxer of all time in my corner. I believe God made this happen, and wanted us to help each other on our journeys. Thank you Kyodai Takeru for everything, I will make sure to fight as best as I possibly can and win 🏆.

Excited to announce ‘Tierra de Miel: Honeyland’ Oct. 1st with a private viewing on September 25 at Wright Group Gallery in Montclair, New Jersey.

This body of work has taken shape over the past six months, moving through migration, genetic memory, and the landscapes we inherit. Honeyland is a kind of mythical place. In a way it’s a place inside of ourselves that we somehow remember but don’t quite recall living, a memory without recollection, something we somehow spend our whole lives trying to return to.

Eric @maku.mekaa came by the studio and caught me somewhere in the middle of it all.

Church @cassandrachurch took a field trip with me during a studio break from the summer heat. Grateful to them both for documenting this chapter so perfectly. Reach out to them for your photographic needs, they’re really the best.

Thank you to Wright Group Gallery, and to everyone who has continued to follow and support the work over the years.

Looking forward to finally letting these paintings breathe new life out in the world.
