Excited to share a little more from The Weight of Holding✨

Created in collaboration with 17 dancers, dramaturgical mentors @benneedhamwood & @peterchuthis, and composer @albertbarba1, this work served as my MFA thesis project for @uazdance

I’m incredibly grateful for the space this process gave me to explore ideas of accumulation, tenderness, and shared weight. Thankful to everyone who helped bring this world to life♥️

Saying goodbye is never easy. But this one is asking something of me I could not have prepared for.

To my cast: seventeen people willing to be held, and willing to let go. I will carry what I learned from working with you for the rest of my life.

To my collaborators: you made something with me that I could not have made alone. That is the whole of it.

To this school, this stage, this chapter: I arrived with so many questions to explore. I leave with better ones.

And to Richie: you have held me through all of it. You know what this work cost and what it gave back. Thank you for staying in the room with me, even when the weight of doing so was heavy.

The Weight of Holding is done, but it was the most beautiful place to be.

Student Spotlight | HOW WE RELATE TO MUSIC🎵

I recently had the privilege of premiering my first group piece on the collegiate level EVER. “How We Relate to Music” is a celebration and showcase of individuality. This piece truly feels like an amalgamation of who I am as a choreographer and a human.

To my cast,
Getting to create a work on such inspiring, talented, and willing bodies has been the highlight of my semester. Thank you for the care, trust, and patience you have given myself and this piece. Also, best cast gift ever (new fav shirt)

To @zacharywhitepercussion , Thank you for creating and collaborating with me for this track. Such an honor to work with such a gifted musician like yourself.
