The Canberra Raiders have secured the futures of Jed Stuart, Malachi Smith and Mark Tuialii, with Stuart extending through 2029 and Smith and Tuialii re-signing through 2028. Local junior Stuart has made 28 NRL appearances since his 2025 debut, scoring 11 tries. Smith, who debuted in the final round of 2026, was named the Raiders’ NSW Cup Player of the Year, while outside back Tuialii won the NSW Cup Coaches’ Award and is targeting an NRL debut in 2027.

Former Bulldogs halfback Bailey Biondi-Odo has signed with the Warriors on a development contract for the 2027 NRL season. The 24-year-old returns to the NRL system after three seasons with the Townsville Blackhawks, following 17 NRL appearances for Canterbury in 2021-22. Biondi-Odo enjoyed an outstanding Queensland Cup campaign, scoring 13 tries in 17 games while recording 10 line breaks, 19 try assists, 13 line-break assists and 29 tackle breaks. The Mount Isa product also has 74 NSW Cup and Queensland Cup appearances, scoring 39 tries, and represented the Indigenous All Stars in 2024. The Warriors see him as valuable competition and depth in the halves. #NRL #Extension #Signing #WeAreRaiders #UpTheWahs @nrl @raiderscanberra @nzwarriors

How incredible is this! 🦈💙

It wasn’t too long ago these two little Sharkies were running around BFO, and now they’re taking on the nation’s biggest stage in the NRL! 🔥

A pretty special reminder to our young Sharkies dream big, work hard and never stop believing.

Because dreams really can come true. 🩵🖤🤍

HARD WORK PAID OFF 💪

Following a season built on hard work, Malachi Smith’s efforts are rewarded this afternoon as he makes his NRL Debut against the Cowboys.

Starting the year in Jersey Flegg, Malachi has continued to develop his game while transitioning between hooker and lock, eventually establishing himself as a mainstay in the NSW Cup side! One of the competition’s consistent forwards this season, his work rate through the middle has been matched by an attacking ball playing ability that has made him a dangerous and versatile asset!
