@malaikitchen Started strong with the complimentary sticky rice & plum sauce. Low key the best part of the meal though I wish it was serbed with a hot towel.

In the Peppers; Sweet tangy vinegar plays against the lightly tempura battered soft shells of the Shisisto. Delicate and Healthy yet feels indulgent.

Light, herbaceous and sweet basil play together with a sweet onion vinaigrette in the cucumber salad. Packed heartily.

The sando was subpar for me personally, not as good as Mendocino and I wish I had selected a curry instead but you can't win them all. The bread felt cheap and not the chewiness that I expect from Bahn Mi, it was not worth the price & made me miss Chicago's $9 amazing Vietnamese Bahn Mi. Their saracha is homemade which is pretty cool.

The Vino was an impeccable choice for happy hour and paired well with everything. Solid glass at $8

All in all; I'm not sure I'd go back unless it's to try a cury or dessert. The mango coconut sticky rice dessert might be worth a trip just for that... The service was attentive and friendly so they didn't lose any wow factor there. But what do you think;
Was I too harsh or do you like the ruthless honesty? #Foodie

Tried Malai Kitchen and there was SO much to explore on the menu!

The menu can feel a little overwhelming at first, but I loved how much detail they share about the dishes and their inspiration!

✨ Favorites:
- Chiang Mai Noodles with Shrimp- the curry was SO good
- Vietnamese BBQ Pork Ribs- loved these with the noodles + slaw
- Malai Favorites Sampler- perfect if you want to try a little of everything
- Vietnamese “Meatballs” (Xiu Mai) were my favorite from the sampler!

We also tried the Thai 75, House Brew Flight, Vietnamese Coffee Tiramisu + Thai Martini.

The tiramisu was HUGE and easily shareable for 2+, but the dessert and martini weren’t our personal favorites. I’d definitely come back to try more though!

Great service, lots to explore, and definitely a spot I’d visit again.

Whenever I eat @malaikitchen I can’t leave until I’ve had my mango sticky rice smash

I was craving some the other day and had the perfect coconut at home, and thankfully Malai is generous enough to share their recipe!! (see below)

It was a bit of work, but it was worth every bite. But perhaps I’ll continue to let Malai do what they do best and save myself the hassle 😅

@kathhhreeen glad you finally understand the hype ;)

Dallas, Day 1 ✨

We stayed at Canopy by Hilton – Uptown Dallas, and I absolutely loved the area. It was the perfect location with beautiful views from the rooftop and so much to explore nearby.

We started the day with lunch at Eataly, did some shopping, and ended the evening with an incredible dinner at Malai Kitchen. Great food, beautiful places, and even better company. 🌸

This was only Day 1… and I have so much more to share!
