Took the plunge yesterday… literally.

Spent a few hours at @sanasana.ca on Geary with @bubbanicholson doing his @bluecollarbreathwork , followed by saunas and cold plunges 😱

As always, Bubba somehow found exactly the right words. He has a way of making the plunge feel possible, helping you stay present, and reminding you that the real practice isn’t the cold. it’s learning to control your breath when your mind wants to panic.

The best part is his tools work just as well outside the plunge. Stress, anxiety, life’s chaos… it all feels a little more manageable when you know how to come back to your breath.

Bubba has always inspired me. The way he shows up every day, with intention, for work and life. He’s also a true blue friend. Soon everyone will have his wisdom and way with words (spoiler alert: Blue-Collar Breath work will be on a book shelf near you soon 🙌).

If you need this in your life then find and follow Bubba @bubbanicholson @bluecollarbreathwork And if you’re looking for a place to take you out of the weekly grind and bring you back to your breath, I can’t recommend Sana @sanasana.ca enough. Great saunas, cold plunges, beautiful patio, drinks, food and an all-around great community of people.

Thank you Bubba. Until next time 🥶

The rooms where it starts.

Thoughts on why independent venues keep disappearing, why everything is starting to feel the same, and what we’re building in response.

What’s the last great room you were in?

From concept to reality. 🧊🔥 💦 🥟🍸🍽️
Over a year ago, I joined the SANA team to help shape a vision where design, wellness and sensory experience come together.
Yesterday, we officially opened our doors, marking the beginning of something truly special. Everything from the therapeutic modalities, serene ambience and partnerships to the food, scent, and soundscape has been curated to create an immersive journey for the five senses.
I’m so excited to see this beauty grow and to witness people feeling more alive and connected to themselves and others.

SANA is a modern banya with saunas, cold plunges, food and community.

Welcome to the family, SANA. 🔥 🧊 🍽️

This past weekend we all celebrated 3 years of movement at our beloved hub @standardtime.to - such an enormous abundance of intention, care, reworking, tweaking, adjusting, love, frustration, emotion, sweat and a whole lot of TEAMWORK has gone into achieving this milestone and I’m so honored to be along for the ride. A place where we can move, connect and be comfortable with ourselves and those around us.

For those unaware, my role consists mostly of environment support, during my nights on shift I pay careful attention to the sound, lighting and scent of the space. It’s been a playground for me to hone my skills and connect with the energies within. Subtleties that hold my attention and passion.

@standardtime.to and the family within have been such a huge pillar for me in this dynamic life. They get me, they utilize my skills and they support me in ways so deeply steeped in the ethereal that I’ll be grateful for their imprint on my being for life times to come.

Club spaces like this are important and the love that flows through them is a testament to the deep love contained within our community. Brings me so much joy and wholeness! So many moments of elation, so many deep talks, many sessions venting on a trusted shoulder trouble shooting life’s conundrums… list goes on.

Honorable mention to @soundsignature for that marathon session… 11+ hours in the DJ booth…. Loved riding that wave with you Theo. From the moment we plugged you in to the moment we packed up, the room was feeling blessed.

Thanks to the trees, the sky and the wind for such a beautiful day!
