George Jackson's 'Soledad Brother' changed my life at 30. Blown away by his intelligence and eloquence. It was the start of my transformation. #SoledadBrother #GeorgeJackson #BookRecommendation #Transformation #PersonalGrowth #MustRead #Inspiration #BlackHistory #ReelsReads

"Free yourself from mental slavery" Here is the complete mural at the Santa Clara County Jail. I was proud to create this mural with the help and dedication of a group of relatives serving time. These are their expressions and messages to everyone coming into the facility. You are the only one that can make the choice to accept your mistakes and correct them or to ignore them and accept the system as your home. Poverty, substance abuse and trauma are the main reasons people suffer and get caught up. Their message was simple, you can start by realizing your place and start taking small steps in your liberation by trusting positivity and understanding the arts are there to heal and build confidence in oneself.

I want to thank all of them for reminding me that we are all vulnerable and always at risk in this system, just for growing up in certain areas or for simply being born poor. My work often humbles me and teaches me to never judge others as we all have deal with what life has to offer us on an individual level. All we can do is not give up and try not to take steps back when we finally manage to to move forward.

Remember when voting for Black people meant passing a bogus intellect test? Even with a voter card, it was just a piece of paper. I chose not to vote then. #VotingRights #BlackHistory #VoterSuppression #CivilRights #NeverForget #HistoricalContext #FightForFreedom #Empowerment #DisPlaced

From charity hospitals to segregated waiting rooms, the sting of discrimination was deep. Even family faced cruel barriers based on skin tone. A painful reminder of a history we must not forget. #Segregation #CivilRights #HistoryMatters #RacialInjustice #NeverForget #BlackHistory #USAHistory #SocialJustice

Rebellion's legacy is complex. Incarceration's realities bite hard. True change? It's internal, not in conforming to the system. #PrisonReform #CriminalJustice #Incarceration #SocialJustice #Rebellion #InternalChange #SystemChange #HumanRights #DisPlaced

Education is suppressed in prison. Books are banned, learning is penalized. This actively hinders rehabilitation and keeps people trapped. #CriminalJusticeReform #EducationInPrison #Rehabilitation #KnowledgeIsPower #SystemicIssues #PrisonReform #Injustice #DisPlaced
