This album came out 5 years ago today. Hard to put into words how much this one means to me. It’s been amazing to see it grow over the years and it’s only fitting that one of the songs will be featured in a film tonight in Seattle @grandcanyonfilm … thank you all so much for listening (almost 2 million streams on Spotify 😭) and thank you to the amazing team who helped bring this one to life 💛

Hey everyone, our first original single Can’t Sleep at Night from our upcoming album (same name) is out now!

This one means a lot to us. As a band, we’re stepping into a bigger sound and really leaning into each other’s strengths. For the first time, all 7 of us brought our full talents to the project, and it shows.

You’ll still hear the pretty, quirky, and melancholy songs, just now mixed in with some bops. This single is a perfect glimpse of where we’re headed.

Inspired by early Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Death Cab for Cutie, and early Coldplay.

Hope you enjoy 🤍

— Matthew, Malena, Bruce, Peter, Derek, PHIE & Katie

(Special thanks to @racheljyanovitch for the cello 💫)

My album is out today

thank you thank you I have relied heavily on the artistic gifts of friends during this process and I am so grateful to you all.
@malenacrae my engineer and co-producer and friend for over 20 years
@ladytecate_ @mads______________ @mt_byers my bass and drum collaborators for this album and beyond
@scissorkitten took the photos and designed the cover @johnny____2 has handwritten all of the font

This is my first time venturing out on a solo project after being in bands for the last 10 years. I went into this project searching for what my artistic voice would be like alone & this is what came out. Thank you for listening <3
