Introducing: BERLIN POSTER – EXPERIMENTAL IMAGE MAKING THROUGH RISOGRAPHY hosted by Thomas Lehner @maler.mueller 🌞🌞 How can urban space be translated into images? And how can these images influence the perception of urban space in return? In this workshop, intangible moments shared with one another during field research in the city will be translated and visually expressed using risography: Specific technical conditions influence the aesthetics in such a way that the printing process becomes a creative tool by itself. In return, your artistic works will find their way back into the public space as art posters. 🔸Register now:🔸 Berlin Poster – Experimental Image Making through Risography 23 – 27 September Registration open until 18 August 📸 Béla Machemer #berlinsummeruniversityofthearts #bsua #bsua2024 #summeruniversity #artinberlin #exploreberlin #berlinsummer #UrbanSpace #Berlin #Architecture #VisualPoetry #Photography #Translation #Collage #Risography #Reproduction #PrintedPicture #Iconic #Poster

Always amazing to learn a new print process! I spent time in Berlin exploring Risography and the colour system in order to create a poster design inspired by the Berlin landscape. We went through the process of prepping and profiling separations in order to print in layers with the Riso. We then played around with the percentages and contrasts of the colours to create a desired outcome for our collages images. The workshop resulted in some beautiful prints and representations of the cityscape. #berlinart #riso #risograph #printmaking #udkberlin

In the workshop "BERLIN POSTER - Image Making in Experiments and on Risography" with Judith Holly, graphic designer and Thomas Lehner @maler.mueller, graphic artist, author and lecturer, the participants explored the city and during field research, the collected impressions were visually expressed using risography. Presentations served as a supportive format and individual mentoring made the course a well-rounded affair. #bsua #bsua2023 #summerinberlin #finearts #design #drawing #poster #drawinglab #oliverlehner #judithholly #udkberlin #berlinposter #UrbanSpace #Berlin #Architecture #VisualPoetry #Photography #ExperimentalDesignTools #Translation #Collage #Risography #Reproduction #PrintedPicture #Iconic #Poster

Happy Friday! 🌹 We've asked the lecturers of our BERLIN POSTER workshop, Judith and Thomas, about their favourite places in Berlin: "In a city with a tremendous amount of possibilities, it may sometimes become difficult to discover your own beloved spot. We have found that the most #beautiful explorations are often hidden far away from established places and events for the tourist crowd. We recommend to put your travel guide aside and walk through the city with care, #curiosity and an open mind." Join their workshop: link in bio. What can we look forward to in your BERLIN POSTER workshop, Judith and Thomas? "Participants will get to know Berlin from different points of view and learn to translate their visual impressions into contemporary graphic posters. The printing technique of risography will be our main design tool, but we will explore different possibilities of image making. Our final outputs will engage with individual perspectives on Berlin as a public stage." Photos: ©Jasmina Begović. BERLIN POSTER [14–18 August] – an experimental image making and risography workshop with Judith Holly and Thomas Lehner. "Our workshop focusses on Berlin's urban space, translating our observations into imagery in poetic ways. Authorship and participation will be central aspects, as well as one's own design attitude. Encouraged by the group's common support, we will focus to develop and strengthen every participant's individual and unique approach to image making for poster formats." Featured works in this posting: Yan Takhtush, Justus Ratzke, Anne Cramer, Elvis Perales, Ileana Berning, Leon Hochhäuser, Marlena Wessollek, Momo Anders, Julia Vermöhlen, Marieluise Kämpf, Sergey Kuchin, Tiffany Gretener. #bsua2023 #berlinsummeruniversityofhearts #summercourse #berlinposter #publicspace #authorship #designvoices #visualpoetry
