DUB IN THE CITY ft. BLAQUE MYSTERY ALL NIGHT
30th Birthday Celebration

From the beginning, Blaque Mystery has been on a journey of pushing dub techno, exploring its deeper frequencies, and carving out a space for the sound within Johannesburg’s underground electronic music scene. A journey built on atmosphere, hypnotic rhythms, deep grooves and a genuine love for the culture of dub

As he celebrates his 30th birthday, this edition of Dub In The City becomes something more than just another party. It’s a moment to reflect on the journey, celebrate the sound that has shaped him, and share the decks with some of his favourite DJs who have become part of his musical story

For this special occasion, Blaque has personally invited SPACEDKACE, RHYS MØMSEN, DJ BUHLE, MALIK FAQUIR, SHANE OHH, JON S and AX — artists he respects and shares a special connection with through music and the underground community

With Shane Ohh B2B Jon S joining forces behind the decks and AX taking on the closing slot solo, the night is a celebration of shared journeys, musical chemistry, friendship and the dub sound that brings everyone together

Thirty years of life. A journey fuelled by dub. Surrounded by the people and sounds that matter most

Whoooo, leveling up! ✨💫
I’ve spent years co-producing, collaborating, and learning on the fly from some of the best music makers in the game.
But I never want to stop growing & taking this first big step to master the fundamentals of music production myself feels amazing! 🤩
So amped to be learning under @malikfaquir (I’m a fan) on @proaudio__ ‘s Essentials Music Production course & to finally be on the road towards full studio independence 😬🤩
Stay tuned for what’s cooking! 🫶🏻 Videography by @snapsbysheldon._x Proaudio #Tamaradey #MusicProduction #malikfaquir

This week in The Listening Room, we’re spotlighting “Ivy Eyes” by Malik Faquir featuring Naila Taquidir.

There’s something magnetic about the way this record moves. It carries a darker, deeper energy without losing its sense of groove, creating the kind of atmosphere that slowly pulls a room in and keeps it there.

Malik Faquir and Naila Taquidir have made a track that feels built for movement, but there’s enough texture and restraint in it to reward a closer listen too.

“Ivy Eyes” is out now.
