Still can’t get over this night 🥹 I am so so proud of myself first & foremost. Over the last 8 years, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing different versions of myself through song. I’ve spent years sharing pieces of myself on different stages, & this time I created my own✨. Getting to this moment took a whole lot of self-love, reflection, growth and gratitude.

To my family- aunties, uncles, cousins, my brothers and my dad- thank you for rolling DEEP and reminding me that I come from love ❤️

My sister Tai…my absolute rock that night, filling every gap that needed to be handled and making sure I could just be present. I love you endlessly 💗

Curating this evening alongside @inconcertcanada AKA @shalisamarie was so special. We created a room that felt like R&B, warmth, intimacy and community. Exactly what we envisioned 🥂🤎

@ms.keshia.charles - thank you for bringing the vision together and making my mic stand whimsical and pretty with the flower arrangements.

@killaxkels - thank you for passing the vibe check every time because you just GET R&B ✨

To my host @its.me.kp__ , thank you for taking this on with class, grace and wit 💘 & to the rest of the family at @extragravyshow for the love, support and having me on 🫂🤍

@morgan.answer my music director - thank you for your dedication, working with me through all the moving pieces and for bringing these songs to life.

To my band @benjithesecond @burehbk @malionkeys - thank you for perfecting your craft and elevating my sound in ways I’ve only dreamed of.

To my sisters in the industry who continue to ground me, encourage me, pour into me and remind me of what’s possible- the women of @bcwminmusic, @zenesoul, @denisedeion, @iamsunraae - thank you 🤎

& to everyone I’ve crossed paths with in this journey who has believed in me and showed up for me in any capacity, Thank you 🤍

Big shoutout to my sponsor @rubiconexotic & Thank you @1800tequila @garrettwglewis for sponsoring the night AND sending extra bottles 😮‍💨🥃 RAAASSS.

Very grateful. Very inspired. Very much doing this again.

Here are some clips of what you DON’T see on performance day. 👀🎬

From load-in and setup to soundcheck, rehearsals and those final moments before hitting the stage — there’s a whole lot that happens behind the scenes before the show even begins. 🎶🔥

Being a Music Director entails more than what you see on stage. 🎶

It’s overseeing soundcheck, helping with setup, making adjustments, giving direction, keeping the band locked in, solving problems on the fly, setting the tone and making sure everyone is ready when it’s time to perform. 🎹🥁

As you can see our MD @smoovelunguana_ gets it DONE🔥Leading the team from soundcheck all the way down to prayer before hitting the stage for @zenesoul Sounds Good Live performance at Poetry Jazz Café. 🚀

The performance is the final product. This is the work that gets us there. 🎬

When the theme is disco jungle and the keys start doing THIS… you let the music take over. 🎹🔥

Our 3-piece band brought the soundtrack to this incredible backyard party, and this piano solo deserved its own moment. ✨

Because the right live music doesn’t just play in the background — it becomes part of the memory. 🕺🏽💃🏽

Planning an event? Let us bring the vibe. 🎶✨

Sometimes the opportunity makes sense on paper… but something inside you is telling you this isn’t for me. 🎙️💭

Whether it’s a job, an opportunity, or the direction of your career, learning to trust your intuition can be just as important as knowing when to push through discomfort.

But here’s the real question: How do you know when it’s intuition speaking versus fear holding you back? 👀👇🏾
