POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Earlier this month, Belmont University Music Business students had the opportunity to experience the Christian and Gospel music industry firsthand through GMA U Mic Check, a new initiative from the Gospel Music Association.

The two-day experience gave students an inside look at the people, production, and preparation behind one of Christian and Gospel music’s signature events, the GMA Dove Awards.

The experience began at Nashville’s Museum of Christian and Gospel Music where students explored the history and influence of Christian and gospel music and connected with students from other universities who share their passion for the industry.

Students also gained behind-the-scenes access to Dove Awards preparations, including observing a live rehearsal and meeting with producers, a talent coordinator, and event manager. The opportunity allowed students to see first-hand the planning, teamwork and professional expertise required to produce a major televised music event. The experience also included attending the Dove Awards ceremony.

We are grateful to the Gospel Music Association for investing in the next generation of music industry professionals and providing students with meaningful opportunities to connect classroom learning to the professional music industry!
