🎬 PRODUCERS & DIRECTORS, PLEASE COMMUNICATE THE ROLE CLEARLY BEFORE TALENTS ARRIVE ON SET! 🎯

One major issue that can happen on set is when a talent is suddenly asked to do something they were never informed about during casting or before accepting the job.

If a character requires kissing, intimate scenes, nudity, physical contact, smoking, fighting, special skills, a particular appearance, accent, costume requirement, or any other sensitive action, please communicate this upfront to the Casting Director or Talent Manager—and ultimately ensure the talent is properly informed before coming on set.

Don’t wait until the talent is already on set before saying, “This scene requires you to kiss.” 😩

The talent may say, “No, I can't do that,” and suddenly there’s tension, delays, arguments and unnecessary pressure on everyone.

Casting is not just about finding someone who looks the part. It is also about finding someone who is willing and suitable for the requirements of the role.

Clear communication protects the production, the director, the producer, the casting team, the talent manager and, most importantly, the talent.

Let’s normalize giving talents the full picture before they accept the role. 🤝🏽
