🐪Akhen, our NEW Egypto-Slab remixed🐪 ➽ https://typofonderie.com/fonts/akhen-compressed Akhen designed by Jean François Porchez, is new typeface family inspired by French 19th-century metal and wood types, featuring three narrow widths and a large range of weights. Akhen pays homage to French égyptienne typefaces, offering versatility with OpenType features for stylistic combinations and a comprehensive glyph set. Its rigourous design and short serifs make it a great choice for creating unique and visually appealing designs. The narrow width and precise alignment of terminals and serifs between the weights and widths make very large headlines more striking. The text will be powerful, whether used for editorial projects, posters or visuals for social media. The name Akhen is a nod to this typographic history, paying tribute to this period and the fascination with Egyptian civilisation. Akhen is a shortened version of the name of Pharaoh Akhenaten. During the French Directory, antiquity was highly fashionable in French art. Fascination with Egypt reached its height following the Egyptian Campaign led by Bonaparte from 1798. This cultural fascination was further fuelled by the monumental book Description de l’Égypte published in 1809, which had a profound influence on architecture, fashion and the decorative arts. Launched in 2025, Ahken was started in 2021. For the production of the typeface, Jean François Porchez has been accompanied by @hyper.flou, @typeandgraphics.studio, @nightjar.type, @malohff. For the launch of Akhen: @no_______________mo, Emma Rouguet where deeply involved.

#typographie #graffiti #zine #print #lettering #skriptletterjam
