b*ysclub | the mechanic shop | bts dump

after wrapping up at the tattoo studio, the team and i suited up/headed to our second location of the day. the sun-drenched, floor-to-ceiling-glass garage door-clad master mechanic on dupont and ossington.

albert and locked down this location at the end of a long day spent whipping all over the city, cold-canvasing mechanic shops in a communauto. it was one of those winter days where the tradeoff of a clear blue sky was the fact that the air stings your skin. after visiting about 7 mechanic shops, we had more equally frosty interactions than leads - until we found this absolute beauty of a space.

it was pretty chilly when we shot this scene, and my knees got rather dusty from servicing the trades (tucking and rolling and top-sticking nails and checking the monitor), but make no mistake that this set felt like heaven on wheels 🪽

I still can’t believe it , Last week we wrapped on the production of RYLIE . A script I started when I was barely able to look at screens again after being bedridden for 6 weeks due to a severe long covid crash in the summer of 2025. I’ve spent that last 8 months training and prepping my cognitive, emotional and physical strength to be able to handle an intense 4-day shoot as I’ve not been able to since that crash. I’m happy to report that a week after the shoot my adrenaline dropout has not kicked me into a crash . Which is the sign of progress. I’m not out of the woods yet by any stretch but this is a huge milestone for me. ⛓️‍💥🙏🏼

Thanks to everyone on the amazing team especially @lukefmccutcheon , @lucaswurstlin , @krislaflamme , @thepizzapixie @michelaa_e for jumping in early on this. I’m beyond thrilled with what we shot. Massive thanks to @torontoartscouncil for supporting this project. And shout out to @thevintagehairdresser and @gregorypynn for the set visit!

We did it!! We made a movie in 48 hours this past weekend for the @48hfptoronto challenge.

Creature feature. Hallmark meets horror. Weird and fucked up. Call it what you will. It was a blast to shoot!

It reminded me why I love making movies. No room to overthink. Hyper creative to solve the mountain of problems we faced. A full weekend of playing.

I’m exhausted but so proud of what we came up with. Props to our amazing producer @alexkarrats and writer/actor @melanieellen. New team but a dream team. You fucking rock.

Also to @ohchris . You had no idea what crazy shit we were going to throw at you, and you said yes, and made it even crazier. Fearless, collaborative and hilarious. 🙏

Shout out to the rest of our team who shot for almost 14 hours to get this thing made, especially our leads ❤️
