Five years in, and the Nike Sport & Equity Dinner continues to be a space for meaningful conversations, connection, and action. Last night, we explored the power of youth sport in shaping the future of NYC, with an incredible panel featuring Earl Cooper (@earldreambig - Eastside Golf), Liz Bacelar (Girl Unleashed), Patrice McCoy (CHJS), and Keia Clarke (NY Liberty), led by the always insightful Monica McNutt (@mcnuttmonica).

The work is ongoing, but being in a room full of leaders committed to access, opportunity, and impact is a reminder that progress happens when we do it together. Grateful for the dialogue, the community, and the momentum we continue to build.

A special shoutout to my teammate @brend_mason and @aloinnocence —your partnership and dedication make this work so meaningful. And to @thegrantaccess and @chefjeffdidit , thank you for bringing this vision to life with such care and excellence. This wouldn’t be possible without you! Here’s to the next five!

Last week our team had the opportunity to celebrate Juneteenth through the lens of sport, equity and leadership. We kicked off the celebration with our first event, In Full Swing. We had the opportunity to host over 50+ youth in the South Bronx at @wearedream for an afternoon of Basketball, Golf and Wellness. With the support of @eastsidegolf, Nike Wellness Trainer @alignwithleen and our sport partner @peaceplayers_us, we were able to create this intentionally afternoon of movement and sport.

On Friday our leadership reception, Crossover Collab, at @2045studio, focused on the power of sport and reimagining wellness, and inspiring action towards creating more inclusive spaces in NYC.

Special thanks to @thegrantaccess for brining the events to life, @secondmelody for the creative support, @2045studio for allowing us to utilize your space, @djkingszn for serving as a DJ for both events, @binou.bee.cooking and @eastsidegolf for your partnership!

Four years ago @sillsnumber2 asked me how will I amplify the portfolio of the Black Community Commitment in NYC and from that conversation the Black Community Voices Dinner was birthed.

This week we held our milestone 4th Black Community Voices Dinner to highlight and celebrate the announcement of the 2024 NYC Black Community Commitment grantees. I am so proud of the work we are doing and have done in NYC to advance racial equity and help eradicate systemic racism.

There is truly no finish line in this work!
