FOLK+LORE•1: A conversation about “TRAVELERS” between an author (Roger Hart), a musician (Mal Murphy), and a printmaker (you know who). Thanks to Nate Boots (singer/songwriter) for inviting us and being such an awesome host, and to the audience that came out that night. If you missed it, FOLK+LORE•2 is coming soon, featuring a different group of creatives…stay tuned!

***Photo 8: My portrait in the Free Press of Mankato was taken by photographer @_maeve_the_wave_ 🔥
***Photo 10: Jim (one of the gardeners at the Living Earth Center) brought me a bag of eggplants 😭🥹🥺

WOP members and volunteers helped print bandanas this afternoon for @malsarahmurphy, a featured artist in the FOLK+LORE event hosted tomorrow, Thursday August 27th at 7 pm at Blue Earth County Historical Society. If you’re looking for something fun to do, make sure to stop by and check out the featured music, books, and art!

We love helping artists in our community and had a blast printing (though the pizza payment was a plus).

Process videos coming soon 👀

The Summer Day- Mary Oliver

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean—
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down—
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

Stumbled upon these photos today in my hard drive.
A sunny afternoon in Galway, Ireland.
Circa 2022.

What a cute find ✨
