Every year, my birthday reminds me just how loved I am.

From 2020 to 2025, one thing has remained consistent: the people I love, my friends, my family, my community… they do not play about me. 😂 And they definitely do not play about celebrating my birthday.

Every year has had its own energy, its own theme, its own memories — but the love in the room is always the same.

The décor. The music. The laughter. The dancing. The people showing up dressed and ready to celebrate. The moments that turn into stories we’re still talking about years later. I never take any of it for granted.

I’m so grateful for every person who has ever walked into one of these rooms and helped make my birthday feel special.

And if you’re newer to my world… welcome. 😂 This is how we get down over here.

This year is going to look a little different. I’m celebrating differently, but just as intentionally — and in a way that feels even more meaningful to me in this season of my life.

I’m excited to celebrate with the people who have been there through the years, and also with some of the new friends, connections and beautiful people I’ve met along this journey.

Different room. Different purpose. Same love.

And somehow, I already know this one is going to be special. 🥂✨

Happy International Women’s Day to [ALL] of the women in my life (many not able to be captured in 20 photos).

🌟 Meet Marie Andre, MSW, LCSW, one of our esteemed panelist speakers at The Healer’s Table Dinner!

Marie’s journey began at UMASS Dartmouth in 2007, where she earned her degree in Women’s Studies with a minor in Black Studies. Driven by a passion to uplift women, especially those in her Haitian community, Marie became a first-generation graduate and a beacon of hope for others.

After pausing her career to gain valuable experience in the healthcare system, Marie returned to her academic pursuits, earning her Master’s in Social Work from Bridgewater State University in 2023, with the unwavering support of her family.

Throughout her career, Marie has worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, providing essential education and resources to the Haitian community. She has actively participated in health fairs, connecting fellow Haitian immigrants with vital social services, from transportation to healthcare proxies, and employment resources.

Currently, Marie serves as a Clinical Social Worker at the Veteran’s Health Administration (PACT Team), where she advocates for those facing barriers due to language, legal status, or fear. As a mother, daughter, sister, provider, and woman of faith, she is committed to empowering her community, helping individuals find their voice and navigate the system with confidence.
