I’ve been a mom for almost a week. I’m in love with our baby girl, Red Katz, but that was expected (even if she’s more of a glow worm than a human at this stage). What I couldn’t have anticipated was the enormous and constant outpouring of support and care from my devoted friends, family, neighbors, caregivers and my husband, who has prepared every single meal (for the pickiest eater), and taken care of me while I recover physically and face the most challenging experience of new parenthood (there have been dark moments, let me tell you). Here’s to unbreakable female friendships, caring doulas + midwives, and husbands that exceed all expectations. This is a different kinda salad...
