I’m torn up! Uncle Freddie J! How u left us just like that? Besides you being a masterful performer, your kind spirit compassion and your infectious smile will last foreverrr!!! Mama Vy @vyhigginsen and the @mamafoundation Mama I Want To Sing community along with so many others will wholeheartedly miss you! You were always so selfless- even when we saw each other in our neighborhood of Harlem across the street or across the way, you made sure to always shout out “Mama I Want To Sing” loud and proud knowing it was so important to protect our black history, hard work and imprint of our community to the world! It was mutual! Harlem Sticks Together! The Mama I Want to Sing Music Institution @mamafoundation and I will ensure we celebrate you and sing your music for years to come! I will never forget this day even if he was still living. I knew him well, but THAT day there was a special vibration in the air I will never forget… Almost earrie, but like a loving godfather watching over you letting you know everything is going to be alright. what an absolute honor to perform at Carnegie Hall (@carnegiehall). this has been a dream of mine for so so so long and it feels unreal that I got to live it. such an empowering time singing at the INCREDIBLE Cheyenne Jackson’s (@mrcheyennejackson ) Carnegie Hall Solo Debut! this event included performances from the great Jane Krakowski and Jessica Vosk (@jessicavosk ), which was such an outstanding experience for me. not only was that time great, but in the past the same stage held some of my icons, Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong, (pictured on slides 5 & 6), and for that I feel so truly honored. our time with the director, the Tony Award-Winning Warren Carlyle, (@warrencarlyle ) was so fun and such an amazing experience! thank you to everyone who made this event possible. group - @singharlem | photography (slide 1) - @rebeccajmichelson | (slide 3) - @maryob711 | source of opportunity - @mamafoundation | thank you all!! ♥️ (december 8th, 2026)
