The year of the fire horse ꩜

Fire has always lived in my blood.
In the way my father moved.
In the food my mother cooked, and the warmth they gave so freely.

My dad was a cowboy. He taught me how to build fire, and how to ride a horse. Two forces that are both powerful and gentle, nurturing, and dangerous. I was afraid of their strength, but he taught me how to trust it. How to respect it.

On rainy days, I would come home to a fire he made. A quiet reminder of his care. His ability to nurture, just like the flame.

This Lunar New Year, I honor the element and animal that shape me. I am meditating on the strength in me to carry it forward. 🔥🐎 #lunarnewyear #firehorse
