A Toast to Tucson! 🥂🌵

Last night was such a special evening at United Way of Southern Arizona’s Toast to Tucson. I was honored to be nominated for the Howard N. Stewart Emerging Philanthropist Award (thank you @atmorenob) and had the pleasure of meeting Howard himself! Congratulations to @dctucson the winner of this year's award, so earned & deserved ❤️

Add in amazing local food from the Culinary Cooperative, Kneller’s Delicatessen, Sullivan’s Steakhouse. B12 shots from @rescuemewellness, color matching and more.

Thank you to @girlturnsmom for being my +1 and thank you to one of my bosses @keyshaqw for surprising me and coming to support me. I appreciate you both so much 🙏🏾

I love this community and I will continue to give back every day I physically and mentally can.

Juneteenth 2026 was filled with purpose, creativity, community, and reflection.

I am grateful to have curated such meaningful events for Juneteenth and the days leading up to this federal holiday. The Hats We Wear was an evening filled with knowledge, storytelling, and nostalgia. The artists of EarthSeed Rising Arts Collective shared remarkable artwork and truly embodied the spirit of We Are the Art—demonstrating that art is not only what we create, but who we are.

Co-curating the exhibition at The Drawing Studio continues to inspire me to keep moving forward and never become stagnant in pursuing my dreams. Experiencing the variety of Juneteenth events throughout Tucson left me hopeful and encouraged by a community that continues to gather, learn, celebrate, and support one another.

Juneteenth is America’s holiday—a reminder of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing work of building a more connected and compassionate society.

And after a season of planning, teaching, curating, and celebrating, we finally enjoyed a little downtime together, taking in Beauty and the Beast. It was the perfect ending to a meaningful week.

My heart is full. Thank you to everyone who attended, supported the artists, shared conversations, and helped make these experiences possible.
