Today @Sublime played Oct 20, 1995 for @_hustlur_ board co.launch party at the @danapointyachtclub formally The Michael Supper Club in @cityofdanapoint Sublime had never played in this part of Orange County and were on their way to being one of the biggest bands in the world. We where stoked that Bradley agreed to play for us and everyone came to see them play and in Sublime fashion the place got destroyed and the cops shut it down. This is before the internet and cell phones where a new thing we still used payphones. Allot has happen in 30 years yet the memories still remain for those in attendance. Bradley Nowell was a friend and we miss him and his voice. Time has a way of capturing music frequency and his music still vibrates today and he has become a icon fallen idol forever young his music is the inspiration for every American reggae band to come after. And this time she’s coming STRICTLY VINYL. 💿🔥 Mama Troy is digging into her collection and personally selecting some of her favorite records to spin on air — so you already know there are stories behind those selections.

One thing Troy and I have always had in common is our ear for TALENT. When we hear something special, we want YOU to hear it too. We love discovering fresh artists coming up just as much as we love honoring the artists who paved the way for Reggae, Ska, Punk and the culture we enjoy today.

That’s what it’s all about — knowing the roots while keeping your ears open to what’s next.

Troy’s connection to Sublime is also part of that musical journey, and seeing Jakob now carrying the music into another generation makes this chapter even more full circle — new music, new energy, but something about it still feels familiar. 🎶

Troy and I have been friends for almost a decade, and our adventures usually include music, shows, good food, discovering artists and plenty of conversation. Now, for the first time, we’re bringing some of those conversations to the airwaves together.

Spent most of the day down in Encinitas. Stopped by Poods to see @stevecaballero @willysantos then had the most delicious 3 hour lunch at @chick.and.hawk with homies & ohana stopping by to enjoy the food. Mahalo @marlaw_seraspi @tonyhawk @chefbachelier then stopped in Oceanside @oceanside__tattoo to make a few tattoos, mahalo @jason_betztattooer for all the hospitality. Then up to Orange County to stop at @exit8bodega & hang with Ohana @christianhosoi @popshosoi @kevinroycejohnson @lizzy.pac
