🚨 Movement Progression for Youth Athletes 🚨

With the youth programs we have here at Telos, it’s important for our coaches to progress correctly through the standard movement patterns. Progressing too quickly without teaching the athlete the basics can lead to imbalances in the movement itself and could potentially lead to injury! 🤕

To get the most out of our youth athletes and get the most of our their sessions, we always start them off with the basic movement patterns: squat, push, pull, hinge, and lunge before we even think about adding more!

What this does is help the athlete develop motor control while performing the movement, and also helping them learn how to move their own body through space 🏋🏻‍♂️

By spending time focusing on these things, we can then get to the “fun stuff” which are those compound movements that everyone loves to do! Here we have one of our youth athletes, Jackson, performing a barbell sumo deadlift. While working with Coach Matt, Jackson was able to learn the basics of this movement before ever touching a barbell!

🚨Telos Kids Class🚨

Here at Telos, we have a few different youth programs! One of those is our kids class 💪

Our kids class is run by Coach Shaun, and during his class they learn skills that will help them as they continue to grow and develop as athletes!

Coach Shaun always makes sure that the kids are staying engaged in class and having fun by adding in games and other competitions 🏆

Well - we had a very good run! Sadly - our team has folded due to not having a coach going forward. We are so proud of the athletes that have called this home for years and for those that have come and gone. We are sending out into the softball world very talented athletes that are dedicated, highly competitive and passionate. Go spread your wings girls, find your next softball journey and always hold these memories and teammates close to your heart. Thanks for all the great memories and experiences. Thank you to our community for supporting our team over the years and to our coaches who have poured into these girls. Thank you to @desertthundersb as well!
