Well, this wasn’t what I was expecting to find in Bolton… 🎬

A little wander around Le Mans Crescent and suddenly it felt as though I’d stepped straight into another era.

Vintage cars, an old London bus, a newspaper kiosk, barrels, carts, period advertising and even a cinema showing The Devil You Know… all part of the transformation of Bolton into 1920s/30s London for filming of the new BBC drama Hercule, bringing Agatha Christie’s famous detective to life.

I absolutely loved spotting all the little details that help create another time and place. There’s something quite fascinating about seeing the magic happen before everything appears on screen.
And honestly, with that sunshine and those beautiful old buildings, Bolton was looking rather fabulous too!
