That’s a wrap on Ledger’s 5th grade football season! You had some really great reads at outside linebacker this year Ledge, I am so proud of you for wrappin up and executing tackles without fear. This was one of my favorite years to watch you because everything is starting to come together for you, keep learning and growing on the field my dude 💪🏽

⭐️Huge thanks to the coaching staff: My husband Coach Lucas @dave.lucas.98 , Coach Veldt, Coach Labun and Coach Huisman @brennanhuisman for your time and dedication to these 5th & 6th grade players! The overall improvement by each individual player was a beautiful thing to witness every week from the bleachers 👏🏼 Boys had a great season going 5-1

⭐️Also big thanks to Caledonia Varsity coaches: Coach Bell @whitneybell55 & Coach Chuma @man__youknowchuum for your consistent sideline encouragement on game days and post game huddle chats with the boys on how to be great football players both on and off the field. Motivating them to keep playing and continue to grind toward their future goals under the lights on Friday nights 💜🏈 This team was blessed to have you both a part of their journey this year!
GO CAL!!!!!

⭐️ Last but not least, a GIANT THANK YOU to Neal Scheuneman @nealscheuneman for all of his hard work in making Cal Youth Football not just a program but a FAMILY! Your dedication to these young boys and our community does not go unnoticed!

Now, straight into hoopin season 🤪🏀

Every program has a beginning. Ours starts with a vision for more opportunities in West Michigan.

In 2023, Chukwuma Echebelem founded West Michigan Drive after recognizing a need for more high-level football opportunities for local athletes.

What started as one flag football team grew into a competitive 7v7 program with multiple teams spanning 10U through 18U—all built around the same purpose: creating an environment where athletes can develop, compete, gain exposure and prepare for the next level.

One team.
One vision.
The beginning of something bigger!

BASKETBALL PERFORMANCE | CHANGE THE BRAKES

Everybody wants to get faster.

But in basketball, if you can’t stop, control force, and redirect it, that speed only gets you so far.

Today on the 1080 Sprint: 5kg out / 8kg back.

The lighter load lets us attack acceleration. The heavier eccentric load forces the athlete to absorb more force, own the stop, and reaccelerate with control.

That’s basketball.

Accelerate.
BRAKE.
Redirect.
GO.

Sometimes to get faster, we have to change the brakes.

Apex Athletic Academy was created by bringing together two established football programs - NxtGen Sports and @westmichigandrivefootball - now united by one vision.

By combining proven leadership, experienced coaching, competitive success, athletic development, mentorship, and exposure, Apex is building a complete pathway for West Michigan athletes.

This is more than the merging of two programs - it is a commitment to give athletes access to stronger development, greater competition, and the best possible opportunity to succeed on the field, at the next level, and in life.

Together, we are Apex Athletic Academy.
