My Engagement Henna Breakdown!!💕

For me, things have to be meaningful and special. So, I had cow, lotuses, and elephants drawn on my palms, and back of my hands.

In Hinduism, every god has a Vahana or a vehicle which is an animal. It is considered that these Vahanas are their constant companions. They also represent human traits, strength and beauty of deity.

● Cow is not only a Vahana of Lord Krishna, but also provides us with milk. Hence, she is treated like a mother in Hinduism.

● Lotus is where Goddess Laxmi (Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity) resides. Lotus represents purity, self-regeneration, and spiritual enlightment.

● Elephant is a Vahana of Goddess Laxmi. Elephant also represents strength and good fortune.

One common factor between all of these 3 figures is the representation of a Goddess/ Mother. A woman in Hinduism is also considered as a Goddess figure. In hindi, we call Goddess as Maa (Mother). When a girl is born or marries into a new family, people say that the family has been blessed with a Laxmi Maa.
