My itinerary through the Laos leg was intentionally kept fluid except for this dining experience that I definitely wanted to try at @mandadelaos 🪷

Pictures don’t do justice to just how gorgeous this restaurant is. Every corner a work of art. The staff were very kind in giving me the best seat in the house and I had plenty of uninterrupted time to take some pictures. Thankfully the slot I picked hardly had other guests.

The food was excellent- I tried their vegetarian tasting menu. Very happy I got to try multiple dishes from the local cuisine.
The house-made coconut ice cream was the highlight though and what a way to finish a meal!

Highly recommend this restaurant if you’d like to hit many mangoes in one stone🍃

I finally found the perfect excuse to cut the tags off this stunning outfit from @shopunrush ive been saving up for a special occasion that ended up being a solo lunch date in the best setting ever.

🇱🇦 Luang Prabang, Laos | The Jewel of the Mekong

This charming UNESCO World Heritage town surprised us with its stunning nature, rich history, delicious Laotian food and warm hospitality.

Here are our 8 Must-Do experiences:

1. Kuang Si Waterfall
Discover breathtaking turquoise pools and cascading waterfalls. Arrive early to beat the crowds!

2. Walk With Elephants 🐘
Enjoy a memorable, no-riding elephant encounter while learning about conservation and animal welfare. We engaged @mandalao_elephants with transport included, and it was the best experience for the trip!

3. UXO Visitor Centre & Royal Palace
Discover Laos’ wartime history and explore Luang Prabang’s fascinating royal heritage.

4. Hike Mount Phousi
Climb to the summit for panoramic views of Luang Prabang, the mountains and Mekong River. The hike is easy, took us about 10-15mins.

5. Coffee With a Mekong Sunset
Relax at a riverside café and watch the golden sunset over the Mekong River. Simply magical! We had ours at Saffron Coffee.

6. Stay at Sofitel @sofitelluangprabang
Experience elegant colonial-era architecture, peaceful tropical gardens and exceptional Laotian hospitality. The services were impeccable and the breakfast was fantastic! We stayed in the 2-bedroom family suites. They kept a small family, free-roaming house rabbits that live in its lush botanical gardens which our kids loved so much!

7. Celebrate at Manda de Laos @mandadelaos
Enjoy a special dining experience surrounded by beautiful lotus ponds in one of Luang Prabang’s most atmospheric restaurants. We celebrated my birthday here!

8. Savour Authentic Laotian Food
Discover traditional Lao flavours at Khaiphaen and Tamarind, two restaurants worth visiting!

✈️ Getting there and around:
~7 hours from Singapore via Bangkok, flying @singaporeair and @bangkokairways. We used tuk-tuk to move around in town, and private driver to waterfall.

❤️ Our Verdict:
One of Southeast Asia’s most charming destinations for a laid-back getaway, less touristy compared to places like Hoi An, and extremely kids friendly! We stayed for 4 nights, definitely a memorable trip!
